Critically acclaimed podcaster and bestselling author Aaron Mahnke explores how folklore, medical beliefs, religion and pseudoscience led to the New England vampire panic, culminating in the 1892 exhumation of Mercy Brown in Rhode Island. Mahnke’s lecture is based on the research for his latest book, “Exhumed: Unearthing the History of the American Vampire.” Reception and book sales/signing to follow the lecture.
